Mopreme Shakur has shown a significant impact on Drake’s spending, which is believed to be Tupac Shakur’s original “Death Record Chain” calling on rappers’ intentions and questioning the authenticity of the purchase.
“My man needs to think more about his actions,” Moprime said in an interview with Loren Lorosa. “Because I just gave him an interview in London, I talk about London being the best rapper. Rappers in London are better than American rappers. So why are you looking for jewelry, literal jewellery, jewellery like this?”
TUPAC’s step brother Mopreme did not stop there.
“If England had the best rappers, why would you do that?” he asked. “So I don’t know.”
While he made it clear that he wasn’t trying to inspire the drama, Mopreme expressed disappointment that the chain did not stay in the family.
“I think this family should have everything for everything,” he added. “But it’s not always the case. But my personal opinion. That’s how I feel.”

Drake shows off Tupac Shakur’s chain, as authenticity is under censorship
Drake made headlines last month after revealing that he had purchased a dead row pendant from a diamond stall, with the jewelry with a label logo and nodding to TUPAC’s 1996 album All Eyez on Me.
The work was obtained from Alexander Bitar, a souvenir dealer specializing in rare hip-hop artifacts. Although the exact price has not been determined yet, experts estimate it will cost between $500,000 and $1 million.
Drake showed off the chain on Instagram and posted a detailed image of the pendant in Tupac’s My Eyez on Me Era.

The move comes after buying Tupac’s custom gold crown ring in 2023, which sold for over $1 million at auction.
But not everyone believes that the chain is legal. Suge Knight publicly expressed doubts about its authenticity, calling it “not a 2Pac chain” and “not a dead chain”.
He added: “Whoever sells you that chain, Drake- you need to beat his ##.”
