drake latest In light of Kendrick Lamar’s “Not Like Us” lawsuit against Universal Music Group (UMG), people are questioning Meek Mill’s take on the situation, as The Philadelphia rapper has been the subject of harsh criticism for songs from the Toronto superstar.
One of those who raised the issue was battle rap legend Arsenal Da Rebel, who took to social media to address Meek Mill directly, referring to his 2015 relationship with De Drake brawl.
“I wonder what @MeekMill thinks of DRAKE SUING,” he wrote. “Because of what N##### said about him…Drake goes all out on Meek.
Although Meek Mill responded to the Newark, New Jersey native’s response, the answer he gave was confusing. He went off topic on the issue of streaming numbers, saying he ignored the label’s advice not to drop “DC4” until the feud was over. He also seemed to suggest there was a social media campaign fueling the beef.
“The label told me not to drop anything,” he wrote. “I fought against this and dropped the dc4 mixxtape ‘Shari Bryant backed me myself’ 90k in the first week to warm up… I also can’t make any playlists that make me feel confused and lose confidence, but I know 80% of them are Campaign! Meek Mill elaborated on this in a follow-up tweet, but still didn’t make it clear how he felt about Drake suing Universal Music Group (UMG).
“It all depends on who knows who,” he added. “Once I start owning companies, if I’m making over $100 million on a label, I want to work with senior people and owners because that’s not the only business I’m getting, and I’m dealing with senior people in companies to get Top performance!
However, Meek also seemed to separate himself from Drake in his third post. He said that although he suffered the loss, “I will learn from it and move on!”
Unlike Meek, Arsenal has made his feelings clear about the lawsuits stemming from the rap battle.
“In a rap battle, you can say what you want about WATEVA… the blank period,” he said. “You don’t sue #### because he hurt your feelings so he called you whether true or not…why are you in a fight if you can’t handle the lyrics? I’ll tell you why he Think yourself incomparable! (We all fail sometimes).
