Luxurious Rolex watch from Drake’s ‘Take Care’ album sells for $500,000

The luxurious gold and diamond Rolex watch worn by Drake on his 2011 album “Take Care” sold for $500,000.

Drizzy’s luxury gold-and-diamond Rolex GMT Master II was purchased for an advertised price of $500,000, according to a listing with Wind Vintage, a Palm Beach, Florida, company owned by watch expert Eric Wind. XXL contacted Wind Vintage to get some information on this expensive watch.

According to Charlie Dunne of Wind Vintage, the extravagant accessory is not actually the Canadian rap star’s personal watch, but rather the watch of a colleague of Drizzy’s, who loaned him a watch for the Take Care album photoshoot and various promotional items related to the project.

“Personally, I’ve never seen the watch collecting market as hot as it is right now,” Wind Vintage’s Eric Wind told WatchPro. “The speed at which we sell watches is amazing, often selling within minutes of listing them on our site, but the variety of highly educated buyers who collect watches is not isolated to a specific and narrow group of buyers, which means the market is fragile and risky.”

The gold Rolex strap is full link with minor wear on the clasp and some minor scratches on the case back. This luxury watch comes with its original box and official documents of authenticity. Additionally, the auction includes a variety of OVO memorabilia, including a Swiss Army Knife, OVO Owl Statue, exclusive apparel and backstage VIP passes.
