The Los Angeles City Fire Department has confirmed Cassie Ventura’s claim that Kid Cudi’s car mysteriously exploded in 2012, allegedly by her ex Diddy.
A newly unearthed report obtained by Rolling Stone magazine claims that Kid Cudi was the owner of a Porsche that was set on fire by an “incendive device” on January 9, 2012. for $10,000. The cause of the fire was reportedly classified as “intentional.”
Ventura originally made the allegation in an explosive lawsuit filed against Diddy in November 2023. Cudi later confirmed Ventura’s claims, saying, “It’s all true.” But Diddy’s attorney, Mark Agnifilo, refuted the claims.
“There is no allegation that [Diddy] participated in these actions or directed others to take these actions,” he said in a statement. “It is clear that the government does not know who set the car on fire or how it is related to [Diddy]who denies any involvement.
Didi was arrested on September 16 on three counts: racketeering conspiracy, sex trafficking and transportation for prostitution. Last week, prosecutors appeared to provide new details about the alleged arson but did not name Cudi in the indictment or in court documents opposing Dee Dee’s bail.
In a letter filed with the court on September 17, they claimed that “in early January 2012, co-conspirators on behalf of Diddy ‘slit the convertible top of the car and dropped Molotov cocktails into the vehicle,’ setting a fire an unidentified vehicle.
Didi has pleaded not guilty and remains in custody at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn. If convicted, he faces life in prison.
