Lil Wayne reportedly won $29,225 in damages after being sued for allegedly assaulting a security guard.
According to Rolling Stone, a California judge ruled on Wednesday (June 10) that plaintiff Christian Carlos and his attorneys must pay a five-figure sum and pay Turnage’s attorney fees after a court ruled in April that they violated discovery orders multiple times. A judge dismissed the lawsuit, which had been scheduled to go to trial in August.
“The court granted termination sanctions because Plaintiffs willfully refused to comply with three discovery orders over nearly ten months, made affirmative misrepresentations to the Court regarding compliance, and had not provided any response as of April 21, 2026,” the latest ruling said.
Carlos sued the New Orleans rapper in December 2023. He claims that during an incident at Wayne’s Hidden Hills, California, home in 2021, Weezy threatened him with a gun while hitting him in the ear.
“Plaintiff suffered severe emotional distress requiring him to seek mental health treatment for post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) as a direct result of this incident,” the lawsuit states.
A source told TMZ that the altercation resulted from Wayne pressuring security to take photos and leak them to the media. Lil Wayne’s camp denies the incident took place.
