Lil Durk found himself in serious legal trouble on Friday morning. The rapper was arrested by U.S. Marshals in Florida. According to RapTV and DJ Akademiks, Lil Durk is being held at the Broward County Correctional Facility. The Windy City rapper has been in legal trouble in the past. However, the charges have never been so serious. Lil Durk has reportedly been charged with murder-for-hire. Broward County released a photo of the rapper.
Lil Durk was arrested hours later after being named in the California indictment. The indictment names five men with ties to the OTF organization. Lil Durk founded the organization in 2010. The individuals allegedly used OTF-affiliated credit cards to book flights to California and rent cars. A death did occur on August 19, 2022, but it was not the alleged target. Instead, Lul Prabhu, Quando Rondo’s cousin, was shot and killed. Rondo later said the death “broke his heart.”

U.S. Marshals detained Lil Durk on Friday
The charges against the five men are murder-for-hire involving a death and conspiracy to commit murder-for-hire. The indictment also claims that if the charges against Rondo are successful, a member of Lil Durk’s OTF team would provide the men with “lucrative music opportunities.” The news shocked the hip-hop world. Durk’s arrest coincided with a live broadcast by DJ Akademiks. When the hip-hop star learned what happened, he became visibly distraught on camera. He regretted Duke’s association with such a tragic event.
Lil Durk’s arrest couldn’t come at a worse time. The rapper was arrested on charges related to a February 2019 non-fatal shooting. October was the month the charges were finally dropped. In fact, the FBI believes it was Von Von’s murder that led to the alleged attack on Cando Rondo. Durk expressed his desire to stay out of prison in a tweet that has been deleted from 2022. “So you’ll never see me here doing some tuff stuff to look at the streets.” Unfortunately, he failed to achieve that goal.
