To promote his new album, WHAM , Lil Baby is receiving unprecedented levels of press coverage. The rapper usually keeps to himself, but he’s very outspoken about his personal life and stances on various subjects. One of the most interesting topics came up during an appearance on Lil Yachty’s podcast A Safe Place. Lil Baby was asked if he would consider getting married at some point in the future. He made it clear that, legally speaking, he had no interest in getting married.

The baby is not against romance, but he doesn’t feel the need to go through legal steps to become a couple. At least that’s what he told Lil Yachty. “A prenuptial agreement doesn’t mean anything,” the ATL rapper asserts. “You can’t marry a woman and then get nothing from her,” said Barbi, adding that he prefers to have a marriage on his own terms. He wants to move on with his love life without the financial risks that come with paperwork. “This is her way of getting something whenever you’re married,” Lil Baby points out. “I give a girl a $10 million ring, a $10 million wedding, no paperwork required.”

Baby doesn’t want to “share” his financial situation

Lil Baby believes that personal vows should be enough to bring two people together romantically. “That’s my proposal,” the rapper asserts. “I swear till death do us part, we get married.” Lil Yachty tried to come up with different scenarios in which being legally married would be beneficial to the rapper. Lil Baby isn’t planning on doing that, though. Even if he had an accident or was sent to jail, the rapper said he “wouldn’t care” about the benefits. He also wants to consider how his relationship with his partner may change as he gets older. “That might change when I get older,” the rapper noted. “I really don’t think so.”

Lil Baby also discussed his stance on “whistleblowers” during the “Safe Place” discussion. He told Lil Yachty that he wouldn’t make music with a rapper he considered a snitch. His reasoning? He felt his lyrics would not be convincing working with someone who did not share his values. “It comes down to what we rap about,” he explains. “We can’t rap if you do that. If I’m making Christmas music, then I don’t care what you do.”

The first album he bought was Will Smith’s “Big Willie Style,” which he thinks still sounds great.
