Kevin Gates believes his father would be cured of AIDS if he were alive today.
Shannon Sharpe’s Club Shay Shay podcast aired a new interview with Gates on YouTube on Wednesday (January 28). During the conversation, Shannon asked Gates about his father, who died of AIDS when the rapper was a teenager. Gates confirmed that his father died of AIDS from using infected needles. The Louisiana rapper also said he thinks he could help his father beat the disease if it happened today.
“That’s what got me into holistic medicine,” Gates said. “I was with him for a long time, until he passed away. He taught me so many wonderful lessons. If I could go back in time… I could heal him.”
“I’m not Dr. Sebi or anything like that,” Gates continued. “I don’t want to sound like that, but I could have healed him. He was the one who made me take my health so seriously.”
Kevin Gates has been a strong advocate for alternative medicine and holistic approaches to health. He has been promoting the practice of semen retention for the past few years. In 2024, he revealed that he was on a five-year semen retention journey.
“You get a release every now and then,” he explains. You will have wet dreams from time to time and you will be released. But you don’t have to beat yourself up about it because anything that needs to be expelled from your body will be expelled naturally,” he continued. “But I don’t watch porn or masturbate. “
“It makes a person more cognitively competent in life,” Kevin said. “Your life force is sacred.”
Gates is currently going through divorce proceedings from his ex-wife Drejka.
