Did Joey Bada $$ reignite the war between the East and the West? Big Sean and Ab dragged it?

Red Bull 1520 starts a new season with Big Sean, Joey Bada $$ and AB-Soul and reignites a double-layer lyrical struggle. Or him?

Red Bull’s music platform, Red Bull 1520, returns a new part of its spiral freestyle series. Energy drinks dig into a three-link for heavyweights: Big Sean, Joy Bada$$ and ab-soul. We love these guys! But it’s not just a freestyle conference.

Joey Bada $$ takes advantage of the moments of lyrical warfare. The career-era rapper reignited his track “The Ruler’s Back”, where he called the West with lines: “The West Coast too many d**k lickin’/What I heard was n ### s throwin’ rock, really not shaking / If we were talking about bars, it was too slim pickings of.” (This is a reward for Jay-Z, when the West was at its highest.)

That verse is answered from Ray Vaughn of TDE and the Daily News, who responded with “The Legacy of Crashing” and “hiyu”. Joey’s bar in “Spiral Freestyle” made it clear: This isn’t dead yet.

Joey Spit delivered a direct speech, “I’m late at night / I won’t lose sleep to ruin the day / shouldn’t give you fn time / f ##k, it lights up ’em, I’m a light ray / If you need attention, tell Topa and he has to pay.”

I was shocked how TDE soldier AB-Soul handled this. He is diplomatic.

“The masters of the career era will never be incorrect, but until 3000 until 3000, and forever/Wright is heavy, Ray must have stepped on/It’s hip hop but you know we’re still in this sport/healthy about this sport, stick to rooting/stay it’s competitive.”

Big Sean stays away from it. Remember, his song “Control” was the beginning of a lot of tweaks a few years ago.
