Following his star-studded “Extra Innings” concerts, New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani confirmed a major breach of security.
The full story: On Monday, Mamdani spoke about the security breach saying, “Last night is something that we’re going to follow up on, because I know that there are many New Yorkers who were delayed after a breach of security by those who didn’t have tickets, and then it resulted in a multiple-hour delay”. Disorder broke out when large groups pushed through checkpoints, gates were closed at about 7:15 p.m. The show finally got underway around 12:16 a.m., with Jay-Z explaining roughly 10,000 people had been left outside and closing near 3am with fireworks.
