Jake Paul launched a swipe at Gervonta Davis after the highly anticipated Nov. 14 exhibition game was officially canceled Monday night.
The YouTube star-turned-boxer wasted no time in writing a scathing social media post, calling Davis “a literal walking piece of human garbage” and detailing his nightmarish working relationship with the WBA lightweight champion.

The cancellation of the fight comes after Davis was hit with a new civil lawsuit filed by his ex-girlfriend Courtney Russell, charging him with battery, aggravated battery, false imprisonment, kidnapping and intentional infliction of emotional distress.
Most Valuable Promotions CEO Nakisa Bidarian announced the decision in a statement on Monday, saying: “Our team is working closely with all parties to respond to this situation in a responsible manner. While we will not move forward with this event, we still plan to have Jake Paul host an event on Netflix in 2025.”

Paul made it clear that the cancellation wasn’t just business – it was personal and principled.
“I don’t want to give this female abuser a platform to grow her following and her bank account,” Paul continued. “My company supports women.”
The 27-year-old influencer apologized to those affected by the cancellation, including Undercard players and members of his MVP team.
“I’m so sorry to everyone involved,” he wrote. “Sacrificing time with loved ones and children just for this fool to lose his stupid mind again.”
Paul went a step further, criticizing the broader culture that excels despite controversial athletes.
“It’s horrifying that a diabolical man like this could rise to the top of the cultural and sporting world, including positions of power,” he said, urging fans to “look beyond his fake streetwear ‘SWAG’ and find something deeper to be a fan of.”
The show, which was scheduled to headline a Netflix boxing event at Miami’s Casea Center, attracted widespread attention due to the huge weight difference between the boxers. Davis (30-0-1, 28 KOs) is the current WBA 135-pound champion, while Paul (12-1, 7 KOs) last fought in the 200-pound lightweight division.
Following news of the latest lawsuit, MVP is reportedly looking for a replacement opponent to ensure the Nov. 14 event remains intact. Former UFC heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou told TMZ Sports that Paul’s team reached out to him but he declined, sparking another war of words.

It marks the latest legal trouble for Davis, who has faced multiple legal run-ins over the years.
In August, a domestic violence case against him filed by the mother of two of his three children was dropped. He was sentenced to 90 days of house arrest and three years of probation for a 2023 Baltimore hit-and-run case.
The promotion has been confirmed and fans who purchased tickets through Ticketmaster will receive a full refund.
Paul ended his statement by reiterating that he was ready to return to the court: “As for me, as always, we’ll move on to the next game. Anyone, anytime, anywhere.”
