J Hus is causing heavy debate across the UK scene after sharing behind-the-scenes studio sessions confirming his upcoming body of work will be heavily R&B-infused.
The London pioneer, known for blending Afroswing, dancehall, and UK drill on classics like Common Sense and Big Conspiracy, is trading traditional drill elements for smoother melodies on the new project. Social media pages erupted after video footage and audio clips circulated of Hus recording vocal-heavy, melodic takes.
Fans are split: some praise his “signature versatility” and evolution, others argue he’s abandoning the sound that made him a UK rap pillar. No title or release date yet, but the pivot follows 2023’s Beautiful and Brutal Yard.
This would be J Hus’ first full R&B project, expanding his range beyond the Afroswing/rap fusion that defined “Did You See” and “Bouff Daddy”.
