FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. — Franky Venegas, a member of hip-hop duo Island Boys, was arrested Friday in a traffic accident in South Florida, authorities said.

Venegas, 22, of West Palm Beach, Florida, is also known as Kodiyakredd, according to WPLG-TV. He and his twin brother Alex formed the Island Boys, the station reported.

Franky Venegas was charged with reckless driving, driving without a valid driver’s license and providing a false ID to a police officer, WTVJ reported. He was booked into the Broward County Jail, the station reported.
“Free him,” Alex Venegas, better known as Flyysoulja, wrote on TikTok, WPLG reported.
The Sheriff’s Office did not elaborate on the circumstances that led to Frankie Venegas’ arrest.
The pair became popular, especially on TikTok, for their 2021 hit song “I Am Island Boy,” WPLG reported. The song has been viewed more than 24 million times on YouTube.
Franky Venegas was arrested on May 6, 2023, in Pompano Beach on domestic violence charges, according to Broward County court records. Prosecutors dropped the misdemeanor battery charge 10 days later, according to WPLG.
Friday’s arrest was also on a misdemeanor charge, the station reported.
