Ice Cube and Mike Epps will bring Friday’s Legacy to Long Beach on July 17 for a one-night celebration starring Warren G and Scarface.
Ice Cube will bring the Friday tradition back to life with a one-night celebration on July 17 that will get Long Beach buzzing.
West Coast legend and comedian Mike Epps will team up for “Everyday Fridays: Lyrics, Hangouts and Laughs” at the Long Beach Amphitheater to commemorate the 30th anniversary of the original film that forever changed comedy and hip-hop culture.
Warren G and Scarface appear as special guests to keep the energy real.
This isn’t just another nostalgia drama. Ice Cube made it clear what this moment represented.
“Friday has always been a day for the fans and the fans who made this day a classic and have immortalized it for nearly 30 years,” he said. “Being able to come back on stage with Mike Epps and bring that energy to the experience of one night in Long Beach is special. This show represents the beginning of the next chapter.”
Epps echoed those sentiments, saying, “Every day for the past 30 years, people have told me how much they love the Friday series and how much these characters mean to them. It’s incredible to be reunited with Cube and give fans this one-night-only experience.”
The show’s popularity is somewhat different as it was released on the same day last Friday.
That’s right, after years of development hell, the fourth film in the series is finally here.
Chris Tucker returns, Katt Williams is involved, and Aaron McGruder co-writes with Ice Cube and DJ Pooh.
The Long Beach show is the official kickoff for the upcoming events.
l The promoters are also running a costume contest, so if you show up as your favorite Friday character, you can win up to $2,000.
The Friday series has always been a cultural moment, and this event proves it still has that appeal.
