A woman in Florida saw a post about Sprouts family meals worth $29.99 and it went viral. She then decided to visit, only to find that there were no hackers at the place she visited.
“Y’all hyping this family dinner to me like it’s the holy grail… they say they don’t even have it,” said TikTok user Alexis (@dadivaboss_), who frequently travels between Florida and Georgia.
The content creator originally expected to spend about $30 to feed her family, but she ended up purchasing other products. This left some viewers wondering where to buy bean sprouts and how customers would find it.
As of this writing, the video has been viewed more than 2,200 times.
What is the $29.99 Sprouts Family Meal?
When Alexis walked into Sprouts, she thought she would have the option to purchase a $29.99 family meal.
Family Meal gives customers the opportunity to create “two sides and two entrees” meals at the store’s pre-made counters. It’s similar to Whole Foods’ $35 family meal deal, which gives customers a large plate that can feed up to four people.
Family meals have been all the rage on TikTok lately, and content creators like BIG KEISH (@santanakeish) and HellthyJunkFood (@hellthyjunkfood) are working on their take on the meal.
Customers can choose from a variety of entrees such as steak, chicken, salmon and shrimp. They can also choose sides like creamy cauliflower rice and Mediterranean pasta salad, or any of the products available at the Sprouts food counter.
Alexis’ Experience at Florida Sprouts
When Alexis walked into Sprout, she couldn’t see the family dinner.
“I get there, excited, ready, cart ready, budget ready…what do you mean you don’t have it?” Alexis said.
The content creator said an employee pointed her to the pre-made section, which did not have a “build your own” option available. Instead, she had to choose from a variety of prepackaged meals there.
She selected 10 items, but the final price exceeded the TikToker’s expectations.
“TikTok allows me to walk in here like I’m feeding my whole family on $30, when in reality, 10 items cost me more than $100,” she said.
Are sprouts family meals only in California?
One viewer claimed that sprout family meals are only available in California. However, some commenters said they found home-cooked meals in other parts of the country.
“I’m in Louisiana, I definitely have it,” one viewer said.
“They made the deal in Oklahoma City,” another person added.
TikTok user Porsha Deshannon confirmed that Sprouts family meals are being sold across the country.
“Guys, it’s not right that they only do this in California. I’m in Georgia and several sprout companies here are doing this,” DeShannon said in a video reviewing the food deal. “They only do this at sprout shops that have prepared food counters.”
Other commenters on Alexis’ video said they would leave the store in search of sprouts on sale. Reviews of the Sprouts family meal deal are generally positive.
In Deshannon’s video, she says, “The food at Sprouts tastes 10 times better than the food at Whole Foods, okay? The food at Sprouts is well seasoned. It tastes delicious. You want to eat it.”
“Certain sprouts can do this, I’m sorry…if you have other sprouts around that can do this, please check it out, I’ve always wanted to see others do it,” one commenter said.
