Hit-Boy often talks about his signing of some armed deals in music publishing.
For those who don’t know about the matter, we’re referring to a deal that spans almost two decades of Universal Publishing – which he signed when he was only 19 years old. Just last year, Hit-Boy talked to Vibe Magazine about the nature of his contract and the help he received from Jay-Z.
During the interview, the Hit boy expressed his gratitude to Jay, saying: “I just now, thank Desiree for [Perez] Jay-Z and people like this really brought me to a place I am now where there is an end date. Previously, there was no real end date for my entire career – the money we really got was through publishing, do you know what I mean? “Now, Hit-Boy has clearly reached the end date and has no contractual obligations.
To celebrate this, the artist released a brand new single with a video titled “What’s the deal?” Not only is he behind the track’s work, he also decides to radiate hissing verses through his own beats. This track is a true proof of hitting the boy’s newfound freedom.
Hit-Boy shared his current space while speaking on the track in the release statement, saying, “I never felt my ability as an artist… I felt like I was just starting out after 20 years in the game.” Of course, through a video directed by Daniil, featuring fast-paced, Bling Laden visuals, Hit-Boy made a huge start.
