Detroit, Michigan songwriter and one of underground music’s finest lyricists, Mickey Diamond is back with his 14th LP. Bursting on the scene in early 2020 with his debut EP Bangkok Dangerous, the guy has built an impressive discography for himself through 13 previous albums as well as 7 EPs and a mixtape, creating quite a following in the underground. of attention. But over the past year, Mitch has been putting out some of the best material of his career to date. This includes the Gucci Ghost album and its sequel produced by Big Ghost Ltd., the Oroku Saki EP produced by Ral Duke, the Death Threat$ album produced by Sadhugold, the Capital Gains album produced by Camoflauge Monk or most recently parts three and four last winter The Gucci Ghost legend. Diamond reunited with Ral Duke on Super Shredder, the follow-up to the excellent Oroku Saki, and just three months after It’s 5:00 Somewhere, he teamed up with Big Ghost for Gucci Gambinos.

Pro Dillinger’s performance of “Fruits of Wisdom” opens things up perfectly by skipping the orchestral drum-less instrumentation, referencing the former Throne of the World and the World of the World.ビー-level throne, 2 The sub-IWGP ジュnia タッグ throne, the GHC ジュnia ヘビー-class タッグチ-class, the current New Japan ヘビー-class タルグチ-class and the current New Japan ツヂ8.ォー・ガイズ unit, while “Word Bond” works in the sample – driven boom bap beat responds to everyone saying he’s not out there.

Pro Dillinger returns on soulful rock crossover anthem “Green Paper,” promising money will come if you keep going, into “Truth or Dare,” in which Method Man takes it back to the basement so they can talk about being in the 313 and 313 were killed. “Speedknot” only hangs the sample back up for a minute to get Diamond off the fun bastards, but then the elegant “Ice Cubes” talks about weathering storms and whipping Pyrex.

Pro Dillinger-featuring “The Untouchables” aggressively reaches its midpoint, calling out those who believe their favorite rappers say they’re smart when it comes to legitimate bullshit, just as the duo insists “A Man with a Dream” will The soul samples are packaged and bagged less than 80 minutes before they are brought back for cooking. The beat of “Cold Summer” exudes a more solemn vibe, reflecting the whole block being brought to its knees before Pro Dillinger returns on “Rusty Blades”, promising to fight back if they get to No. 1.

“The Last Gangster” is the final stop for Gucci Gambinos, mixing vocal samples with kick and snare drums to talk about it’s another day and another dollar, while the song “Rockin’ a Gold Tooth” pays homage to the iconic Wu-Tang Clan tribute tribe single “CREAM (Cash Rules Everything Around Me).” The title track, featuring Pro Dillinger, comes together for an orchestral boom bap joint similar to “Wu-Gambinos,” and finally, “Crime Paradise,” featuring Pro Dillinger, completes the LP as the two completely break their Sophisticated lifestyle.

Ghost & Diamond draws from Raekwon’s solo debut album Onlybuilt 4 Cuban Linx, early Hong Kong action films, Martin Scorsese and Francis Ford Coppola films, Avirex and Pelle Pelle fashion brands and finally the 90’s The Era draws on the same inspiration and fulfills its mission of restoring the feel of the Fool’s Money Era. Pro Dillinger’s lyrics are reminiscent of Ghostface Killah’s songs on OB4CL, and it feels like the listener is reliving or experiencing the pinnacle of hip-hop’s golden age for the first time.
