A Foolio murder suspect claims his grandmother suffered a heart attack due to the rapper’s diss song.
On Thursday (30th), the sixth day of the Foolio murder trial, the prosecutor once again showed the jury the video of the interrogation of Foolio murder suspect Davion Murphy after his arrest in January last year. During interrogation, Murphy admitted that he and his family had been affected by Foolio’s diss songs directed at Murphy’s friends and family.
“My aunt was depressed and bedridden,” Murphy told investigators. “My grandmother had a heart attack behind the songs he wrote. Cobain’s mom would walk out of the house and see someone in public… you know how they do. ‘Where’s Cobain?’ Someone peed on my cousin’s grave. You have to feel that.”
Prosecutors appeared to be trying to establish a motive for the murder by showing the jury video of the interrogation. Murphy also was caught on video pretending to fire his rifle as the officer left the room.
Murphy is one of four men currently on trial, along with Isaiah Chance, Sean Gathright and Rashad Murphy, for the 2024 murder of Jacksonville, Florida, rapper Foolio, which police say was part of an ongoing gang war.
Last November, a fifth man charged with murder, Andrews, was found guilty of manslaughter at a trial. Her sentencing was originally scheduled for January but was later postponed
