Eddie Murphy and Martin Lawrence’s daughter Jasmin Lawrence silently revealed his son Eric Murphy, turning a long-term Hollywood friendship into a family bond.
Eddie Murphy, 64, shared surprise marriage news in a appearance on the Jennifer Hudson show, confirmed that Eric, 35, and Jasmin, 29, skipped the big ceremony and chose a low-key church wedding.
“They got married, like two weeks ago,” Eddie Murphy said. “They were gone…everyone was making a big wedding plan and they decided to do something quiet with just two people.”
Murphy, who has ten children, said the couple’s decision made things easier, which brought him closer to longtime friend and bad boy co-star Martin Lawrence.
“Yes, we are in-laws. He doesn’t have to pay for that big wedding right now,” Murphy joked.
The couple’s ceremony was deprived of essentials.
Murphy added: “They’re gone, they’re married in the church. They’re just two and missionaries. They have a quiet little thing. So I think we’ll love big parties or something.”
Eric is Murphy’s oldest child and was born to ex-girlfriend Paulette McNeely. Murphy also shared the kids with Nicole Mitchell, Tamara Hood, Melanie Brown and his fiancé Paige Butcher, who has two children.
The couple’s romance has been made public for years, but the wedding lasted until Murphy’s revelation.
