Drake’s “Shabang” sparks new online challenge.
The single from Drizzy’s Iceman album currently sits at No. 4 on the Billboard Hot 100. Fans are now using the popular song as the latest video challenge online. In the clip, fans use video editing to make drinks and other content appear out of thin air, while Drake raps: “Maneesh on the beat, shabang/All of my opps, they’re dead/Why are they pumping me up?/Where does it go? My head.”
“Shabang” is one of the most popular songs from Drake’s new album. Offset recently won the No. 1 single of the summer. The song was produced by 40-year-old Canadian producer Maneesh. It features improvisational performances from Quavo and Late Takeoff.
Drake’s Iceman album was a huge success, despite initially receiving mixed reviews. The album debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart, with its sister albums Habibti and Maid of Honor ranking at No. 2 and No. 3 respectively. 42 songs from the album entered the Billboard Hot 100 for the first time, among which “Janice STFU” topped the chart for the first time.
With this chart-topping single, Drake surpasses Michael Jackson for the most number-one songs by a male solo artist. Drake heralded his eclipse over MJ on the Iceman album cover, which featured Drizzy wearing Jackson’s crystal-encrusted gloves, which Drake reportedly paid $123,000 for in 2023.
In addition to the “Shabang” challenge, the rappers have also become popular for rapping on several Iceman beats.
