Drake has done it again, and this time Lionel Messi and Argentina are paying the price.
After Spain defeated Argentina 1-0 to claim the 2026 FIFA World Cup title at MetLife Stadium on Sunday afternoon, social media wasted a full zero second pointing the finger at Toronto’s favorite sports bettor.
Blame it on the Drake Curse 💀😂

Ferran Torres settled the matter in the 106th minute after Argentina had barely threatened Spain’s goal for more than 90 minutes, and the internet immediately connected the dots to Drake’s $1.5 million bet on Argentina to win.
Argentina goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez made a record 10 saves in an attempt to avoid relegation, but Spain’s defense kept a clean sheet for the seventh time at this World Cup to walk away with the trophy.
Drake posted the bet on Instagram on Friday with the caption, “What does that mean??? Good Luck…” and when the bet went viral, the X became a warning of disaster.
This is the same trap that Drake falls into in 2022.
That year he also bet that Argentina would beat France in the regular season. Argentina won in a penalty shootout, but Drake still lost the bet because the handicap was determined 90 minutes before the start of overtime.
On Sunday he was back in the same market with Argentina unable to live up to his contract and has now lost both World Cup finals when he supported Lionel Messi’s side.
The Drake Curse also struck McGregor just last week at UFC 329, with Drake’s $1 million bet on the Irishman evaporating in 69 seconds when McGregor’s knee buckled.
Drake’s publicly tracked all-time record currently stands at 32-55 in 87 bets.
Drake placed a stake on Argentina.

Drake has bad luck so you’re telling me he put his money on Argentina to win but Spain beat them?
God, the curse must be real.
