Despite Sparking Heated Fight Debate, Lupe Fiasco Doesn't Hear 'not

Lupe Fiasco sparked a heated debate among Drake and Kendrick Lamar fans after a Spaces chat on X (Twitter) went viral over the weekend.

The “Kick, Push” rapper’s comments angered K.Dot’s fanbase, who accused him of hating Kendrick Lamar. Lupe Fiasco appeared on Spaces chat hosted by Joe Budden on Monday night (July 22) to clear up the misunderstanding.

“I’m not allowed to talk about beef,” Bardem told Lupe. “I see you putting your fork in the sand, and that’s praiseworthy to me.”

However, Lupe’s reaction was surprising considering the backlash his previous comments sparked.

“You know I haven’t listened to any of the songs?” he explained, not listening to them anymore after Drake’s “Push-Ups” and “Champagne Moment” (Rick Ross’s response to the OVO boss).

“I haven’t heard anything since Rose responded,” he added. “So, I didn’t listen to any of the records; ‘Family Matters,’ ‘Meet the Grahams,’ ‘Not Like Us.’ I was kind of out.

Budden then quipped that Lupe was “getting over pure hatred for one of these guys,” but the Chicago host quickly shut him down.

“No, I love Dot,” he insisted, later adding, “I don’t really have any problem with it, I really don’t.”

Lupe then released a public service announcement to dispel the narrative that he didn’t like Kendrick Lamar.

“Jobden community, this is a Lupe fiasco,” he began. “I don’t have a problem. No matter what has been said in the past, what you think happened, what happened, what didn’t happen. I have no problem personally and professionally with my fellow soldier Kendrick Lamar.

Just now on Spaces @JoeBudden and @LupeFiasco talked about Drake and Kendrick. Lupe says he loves Kendrick and Joe says he loves Drake. Both men asked for the narrative to end. pic.twitter.com/TYXr1y8qkd

He also clarified some of his comments about Spaces over the weekend after they were taken out of context.

He responded to a fan who thought Lupe claimed, “Drake has more say in hip-hop because of his touring and record sales.”

“I never said that,” Lupe replied. “We didn’t talk about any particular artist at all in that part. People who didn’t hear the whole conversation just listened to that part and then retweeted it and retweeted it while we were talking about Drake and Dot.

He also denied that fans need a PhD in hip-hop to join the fight.

“Never really said anything like that,” Lupe explained. “I say, if you want to be the person who decides who can and can’t be in hip-hop, you should have a PhD in hip-hop. If the people you’re trying to kick hip-hop out of know more about hip-hop than you do, That’s unfair.
