The incident allegedly started during an argument about a television. Investigators said DeSigner chased a woman with a hammer, smashed multiple cellphones and caused substantial property damage inside the residence.
Authorities took him into custody after the incident.
As of the time of this report, he remained in custody without bond on a second-degree domestic violence charge and most of the felony property damage charges.
The arrest comes less than four months after Desinina was charged in a separate domestic violence case involving the mother of his child.
The earlier case stemmed from a March 2 argument at the couple’s home in Conway, South Carolina. According to a police arrest warrant, the dispute began after Dessigna and the woman got into a heated argument. She tried to leave the airport to retrieve her luggage that had been left at the airport, but he refused to let her leave.
Police said Designer ripped the car keys from her pocket and tore her sweatpants. He allegedly put their children in the car and then pushed the woman to the ground when she tried to stop her. She reportedly suffered minor abrasions and bleeding on her arms and waist.
The child did not witness the alleged attack.
After escaping capture, he was eventually arrested on March 23, charged with third-degree domestic violence, and released on $1,500 bail. The misdemeanor case is pending and is currently scheduled to appear in court on October 16.
The Brooklyn native rose to fame in 2016 when his breakthrough single “Panda” reached No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100. He immediately signed with Kanye West’s GOOD Music.
He later received a Grammy nomination for Best Rap Performance.
Representatives for Designer have not yet commented on the new arrest.
