Charles Barkley has apologized to Beyoncé’s mother, Tina Knowles, for comments she made about Galveston, Texas, on Saturday night’s episode of Inside the NBA. On the show, he joked that the New Orleans Pelicans were so bad they didn’t deserve to go to Cancun this offseason and should instead go to Galveston. Knowles, who is from the city, took issue with the comments in an Instagram post the next day. In doing so, she revealed that JAY-Z sent her the clip.
Buckley apologized for her comments on Sunday’s show. “Mrs. Knowles, I don’t want to smoke,” he began. “I don’t want Hive and Jay to come after Chuck, I’m sorry. I don’t want Hive and Jay to come after me.”
