Forbes reported August 14, 2026, that Bruno Mars has broken a historic Billboard tie previously held with Kendrick Lamar, resetting the record for the most Diamond-certified singles as a solo male artist. Bruno’s “Die With A Smile” with Lady Gaga was certified Diamond (10M units) today, giving him 7 Diamond singles, passing Kendrick’s 6.
The record tie had stood since May 2025 when Kendrick’s “Not Like Us” went Diamond. Bruno’s other Diamond hits include “Uptown Funk,” “Just The Way You Are,” “Grenade,” “24K Magic,” “That’s What I Like,” and “When I Was Your Man.” RIAA confirmed certification this morning. Kendrick’s team congratulated Bruno on X.
Bruno’s 7 Diamond singles are now the most for any male artist this decade, second only to Rihanna (8) overall. The achievement comes as Bruno preps his Apollo album for September. Billboard noted Bruno achieved it without a single rap feature, all solo or pop collabs.
