The owner of the bowling alley where Takeoff died said the rapper’s actions caused his own death in response to a recent lawsuit.
Bowling alley owner wants takeoff lawsuit dismissed
On March 21, Radar reported that the owner of a Texas bowling alley where Takeoff was shot and killed in 2022 is asking for a lawsuit filed by the late rapper’s mother to be dismissed. “There is a reasonable possibility that the incidents involved and the losses complained of were caused in whole or in part by unknown criminals involved in illegal gambling,” Houston-based 810 Billiards & Bowling said in the filing. Unlawful Possession of a Firearm…The defendant is not liable to the plaintiff because the plaintiff’s own acts or omissions directly caused or contributed to the plaintiff’s injuries. “
Takeoff’s mother, Tatiana Davenport, argued in a wrongful death lawsuit filed in 2023 that the defendants on the list, which also includes LVA4Houston Greenstreet, Lionstone Partners, Midway Companies and Texas Cushman & Wakefield, lacked necessary safety nets. Davenport said the bowling alley was hosting a VIP party and knew many of the people in attendance “could be celebrities, which in itself was unique and raised safety considerations, but none were taken.”
A judge has yet to rule on the petition, but Midway reportedly filed a similar motion back in January. The company said it was not responsible for the shooting and said, “The late Kirsnick Khari Tiquon Ball [TakeOff] Failure to exercise ordinary care for one’s own safety. “

Murdered during takeoff at bowling alley celebration
On November 1, 2022, Migos member Takeoff was killed at a popular entertainment venue in Houston after hosting a private party for J Prince Jr. According to the Houston Police Department, 40 people gathered outside the venue when an argument led to the shooting. Quavo was present during the shooting but was not injured. Teng Fei suffered gunshot wounds to his head and torso and died on the spot. The Houston Police Department later arrested Patrick Xavier Clark for Teof’s murder.
