A$AP Rocky couldn’t believe his ears when Denzel Washington rolled up the upcoming movies Pooh Shiesty and Moneybagg Yo.
“Denzel took part in the movie, played Pooh Shiesty and Moneybagg. Swear to God,” Rocky told Vogue, and the moment was still fun. “He likes to listen to Memphis rappers, but modern Memphis rappers. Then he starts quoting Nle Choppa.”
According to Rocky, not only did Washington nod, he began to say Nle Choppa’s “Walk walk town” Word Word. He added: “It’s crazy. He’s really relaxed.”

Spike Lee explains how Rocky landed in an episode of the “Brooklyn 7 p.m.” podcast.
“The interesting thing is that I was watching Instagram four to five years ago and people said A$AP looked like he was Denzel’s son,” Lee said. “I saw those memes and we used them in the movie.
Off-screen, Rocky and Rihanna made their own headlines at the 2025 Metropolitan Gala, confirming they are expecting their third child. Rihanna revealed her pregnancy on the black carpet, with a black and gray Marc Jacobs in it, complete with a corset, bolero jacket and wide-brimmed hat.
