Cipha Sounds and Noah ’40’ Shebib had some static this week over what 40 thought was a minor issue, but it turns out they’ve actually had issues since Pusha T and Drake’s feud.
In a new episode of the Juan Ep Is Life podcast with Peter Rosenberg on Thursday (May 30), Ciph revealed that 40 called him a “bitch” in a new DM and threatened to “beat” him Mouth.
After explaining that he didn’t actually play the song in Toronto and that it was just a song his social media manager chose for the post, Ciph told the story of another misunderstanding he and 40 once had.
“One time I posted a picture of me in Pusha T. Random. Because I was just browsing my phone, looking for old pictures, and putting things up. Randomly,” he began. “40 called me, ‘Yo, why did you put that picture up?’ Didn’t even know what picture he was talking about.
When Ciph learned it was a photo of Push, he explained that he was just posting more content to better share – but 40 didn’t hear it.
“Yo, he disrespects me, he disrupts my neighborhood, he says he wants me dead because of MS and all this shit.” I was like, ‘Oh, again, I don’t listen to that lyrics. I know you had issues with Pusha and your team. I don’t know exactly what he said.
Cipha also explained his primary relationship with Push, as he was the A&R for The Clipse’s second album and broke their debut single “Grindin'” in New York. However, he took the photo down out of respect.
“We had a conversation and I wrote it down,” Ciph said, before returning to their current issue, after which 40 had blocked him. “Why can’t we do the same thing about this?”
Pusha T’s 2018 diss against Drake was arguably one of the most brutal attacks in hip-hop history, so he’s reportedly not too interested in the Canadian superstar’s ongoing feud with Kendrick Lamar.
In a clip from Joe Budden’s podcast that began circulating online last month, co-host Ice revealed that the Clipse MC had no plans to get involved in the fracas, as he had already defeated Drizzy with “The Story of Adidon” . “
Budden first pointed out the risk 6 God took by mentioning K.Dot’s wife in his track, recalling how the Daytona rapper viciously fought back when Drake did this to him a few years ago . In response, Baden said that Drizzy even included the word “push” in the song title [“Push Ups (Drop & Give Me 50)”] He was bold considering his past with Pusha.
However, Ace said none of these small details matter to the Virginia native.
“I talked to Push [for] About two hours on Saturday — just laughing, just laughing,” he said. “He’s not thinking about any of this, man. He’s smiling; he’s got his.
In line with the above statement, the 46-year-old host has quite openly laughed off Drizzy’s current feud.
“I just want to point out that after all the years of Drake’s mob talk, no one has touched @PUSHA_T,” someone tweeted earlier this month, to which the Grammy nominee replied: “Not even Not a single pinky nail… [crying face emoji]”.
