DL Hughley is sure he knows why New York rappers Sheff G and Sleepy Hallow showed up at Donald Trump’s recent campaign rally in the Bronx.

The comedian outlined his rationale in two posts split between Twitter and Instagram, in which he highlighted Trump’s troubled past and other factors he believed influenced the former president’s decision-making.

In the original post shared on Twitter (X), Hughley mentioned Trump’s legal troubles as a common thread between him and Sheff G and Sleepy Hallow, both of whom were recently released from prison.

“Of course #Trump loves #SheffG and #SleepyHallow, they are the only people in America currently facing more felony indictments than him! #TeamDl,” Hughley tweeted.

Hughley immediately retweeted the tweet on Instagram, further dissecting Trump’s ties to felons and how that may have influenced him to join forces with the rapper.

In the caption of the post featuring an AI-generated image of Trump rocking a gold grill and a chain store surrounded by black people, Hughley accused 45 of pandering to the black community while also revealing his ties to individuals who profit from the illegal promotion of black art. .

“FRONTLINE, FELONY, AND FYRE FESTIVAL… OMG!!” Hughley wrote. The man behind “FYRE FESTIVAL” #BillyMcFarland is out of prison in 2022 and he brought Sheff G and Sleepy Hallow to a Bronx rally. It’s now completely clear how these three came together. Catering is taken to a whole new level #TeamDL.

To date, Donald Trump has been indicted four times. The indictments include allegations related to hush-money payments to New York-based Stormy Daniels, which led to an indictment by the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office. Another major indictment involves federal charges that the Justice Department mishandled classified documents after leaving the White House.

Additionally, Trump faces charges for trying to overturn the results of the 2020 presidential election, resulting in federal charges and separate state charges in Georgia. The cases are ongoing, with trials addressing issues ranging from campaign finance violations to obstruction of justice and conspiracy to defraud the United States.

On the other hand, Shef G was released on bail on Friday (April 19). He paid $1.5 million to the New York City Department of Corrections. Sheff G, whose real name is Michael Williams, was one of 32 gang members indicted in 2023 for shootings and other crimes. The eighth member of the Trey Crips used money from his rap career to promote violence in New York.
