While the lyrical war between Drake and Kendrick Lamar may have died down, Top Dawg Entertainment CEO Anthony “Top Dawg” Tiffeys has announced that their battle is over.
TDE CEO insists Drake and Kendrick rap war is over
The lyrical war between Drake and Kendrick Lamar is officially over, according to Top Dawg Entertainment CEO Anthony “Top Dawg” Tiffith. On Friday (May 10), Teefice hopped on X (formerly Twitter) to express gratitude and relief that their lyrical back-and-forth was over.
“The battle is over. Victory for culture while everything remains on wax,” he wrote in the post, which can be viewed below. “Especially when these publications are trying to do other things. We proved them wrong. That in itself is a victory. On the other hand, it’s time to end this TDE 20th anniversary collection.”
It’s unclear whether Tiffany has actually spoken with his former TDE artist, who left the famed West Coast label in 2021. Others still have questions after their rap battle.
“It’s over? How? Did he really plant the information? So many unanswered questions,” one fan wrote.
Another person said: No, it’s too early, we can’t let this end too much, unless there’s a diss album being made, which would be cool.
Time will tell whether their lyrical feud is truly over.

Jay Rock confirms black hippie compilation TDE compilation to be released this year
In addition to Tiffith’s post, fans are also particularly interested in TDE’s 20th anniversary album.
In December, TDE artist Jay Rock confirmed to The Associated Press that a compilation album was in the works. In a brief video (which can be watched below), LA Rhymes added that black hippies will be featured on the project.
Black Hippy is a hip-hop supergroup formed in 2008, consisting of TDE’s deadly spitters Jay Rock, ScHoolboy Q, Ab-Soul and Kendrick Lamar.
“I knew we were doing a compilation album. TDE was twenty years old,” Jay explained. “TDE has been in the game for 20 years, so we’re making a compilation album.”
“So we should abandon this plan at the end of this year,” he continued. “I don’t know how many songs we’re going to play, but we’re mostly black hippies.”
“So be sure to check it out. It’s on the way, a TDE compilation album,” he concluded.
