While Meek Mill is no stranger to lyrical warfare, having feuded with the likes of Drake, he’s rarely talked about the ongoing battle between his former nemesis and Kendrick Lamar.

However, on Wednesday (May 8), Meek decided to add his two cents by making a confusing statement on social media. He first claimed he wouldn’t mention Drake, then gushed about his accolades.
He posted a throwback clip of DJ drama in 2023 on the Jay Hill Podcast, comparing Meek to Drake. The drama with years of strained relations with Meek doesn’t agree with Hill’s view that the Philly rapper is the Jay X of the younger generation.
While Drama admitted that Meek is “more street-oriented,” he claimed that Drake is the new Jay-Z. “The way Drake approached culture is the way Hough approached culture,” he added.

Sharing the clip, Meek Mill wrote, “I’m being honest with you all but not talking about Drake,” before detailing his cultural impact.

In another post on X (formerly Twitter), Meek Mill refused to let his contributions be downplayed. “I have been promoting community development in various jungles for many years,” he continued. “And my rapping skills are incredible! Like really, really good.
Meek Mill addresses Derek Lamar and Kendrick Lamar
Meek Mill has since returned to Drake and Kendrick Lamar, despite previously insisting he would not speak on OVO. “Their kids and Kendrick both have their own style and qualities that they excel in!” he declared.
Meanwhile, Meek also explained that he hasn’t had a PR officer in a while, which goes a long way to explaining some of his recent antics on social media.
My PR had been closed for a year or two, so they changed my name, but when I left, they dropped it! I just keep grinding! The boys and Kendrick both have their own style and qualities that they excel in!
