Megan Thee Stallion, a rapper known for delivering her strongest performances during her jam sessions, is back with another song. Megan lets listeners know from the get-go that this is “Real Hot Girl,” and she’s full of braggadocio about the song.
If we heard correctly, she also seems to have slipped into some subconscious to get close to Nicki Minaj. While it’s not a definitive analysis, some lines like “Take it out of the chat, I don’t want to be your pen pal/Meanwhile it’s a bitch on the app right now/Almost done, still bragging about her “death count/” Possibly a reference to her infamous feud with Nicki.
Having said that, this analysis may not be too far off the mark. After all, Megan and Nicki have both released diss songs aimed at each other in the past. From Megan’s oomph in “Hiss” to Nicki’s unmistakable tasteful comeback in “Bigfoot,” this dynamic has clearly strained their relationship and won’t be reconciling any time soon. Funnily enough, this whole thing started when Nicki was the first to send a subliminal message to Megan with the song “Seeing Green” and possibly call her an alcoholic.
Either way, this year seems to be the year of war in the rap world, and we’re here to see its ultimate impact on the culture.
