The Knicks-76ers are a very tight playoff series. The first two games were physical, with the Knicks winning. Joel Embiid and the 76ers were angry with the way Game 2 was officiated. The referees missed a clear call in the final two minutes that the Sixers felt cost them the game. Officials then issued a note of displeasure and Game 3 was headed to Philadelphia. The Sixers have clearly looked frustrated throughout the series, and last night, Joel Embiid let his frustration get the better of him.

Embiid was the most controversial 76ers player after Game 2, and he was clearly uncomfortable with the physicality of the series. That frustration, combined with his continued recovery from a long-term injury, led to the shocking events of Game 3. In a moment of pure aggression, he grabbed Knicks center Mitchell Robinson’s legs and violently pulled the 7-footer down. This wasn’t just a foul; This was a dangerous and malicious act that could have caused serious harm to Robinson.

Should Embiid be ejected after fouling out?

Joel Embiid’s foul on Mitchell Robinson wasn’t just a foul. This outbreak is a dirty game that carries serious risks. After the incident, the two teams had to be separated and the referee had to review the game. To the surprise of many, officials considered this a blatant violation. However, despite the clear violations, the NBA chose not to expel a star player like Embiid. The decision raises the question: Should Embiid be ejected because of his actions? Many fans and experts think he should be.

Despite the dirty play, the MVP stayed in the game and had the best performance of his playoff career. The center, who is still injured and reportedly suffering from Bell’s Palsy disease, scored 50 points against the Knicks. Maybe Embiid will have to tap into that strength to erase some of his postseason failures. Even though he’s not close to 100% healthy yet, he’s having his best series ever. Overall, it’s been a roller coaster ride for the 76ers Kinicks and we need it to play 7 games.
