Puff Daddy’s sex trafficking victims are reportedly opening up to investigators who claim to have “specific” allegations against the embattled hip-hop mogul, leading to a Department of Homeland Security raid on Monday.
A source at the Department of Homeland Security said investigators have been looking into the allegations for weeks, the New York Post reported.
“It’s an interesting thing for the victim,” the DHS official explained. They may be reluctant to talk at first, but once they start talking, they will. They talked a lot. We have had a lot of cooperation from a lot of people who want to see him brought to justice. ”
A multi-agency investigation led by the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of New York is ongoing.
According to DHS sources, Diddy’s accuser has painted a clear picture of his alleged crimes.
“We believe sex trafficking has a troubling history,” the Miami-based official explained.
“We are responding to specific, detailed, clear allegations. This is not random. We did not choose his name out of thin air. We received the allegations and are following up on them.”
Homeland Security officials confirmed that Diddy “is under investigation” and has not yet been arrested or charged with any crime.
“He’s now free to do what he wants,” the law enforcement source said. “But he knew that if the charges were reduced, we would get him – wherever he was.”
Seven new accusers cooperate in investigation into Diddy’s alleged crimes
Diddy has strenuously denied the accusations leveled against him in several lawsuits.
Seven new people have reportedly come forward to cooperate with authorities, AllHipHop reported earlier this week. Three Jane Does and one John Doe have been interviewed, and three more Jane Does are scheduled for discussion.
“We became aware of certain allegations during the course of the civil litigation against Mr. Coombs,” the DHS official continued. “You have to understand, we didn’t just decide to search his home on a whim. A federal judge had to sign off. This is not a witch hunt.”
Diddy’s attorneys, however, called the federal raid an “unprecedented ambush” that was “nothing more than a witch hunt based on baseless accusations in a civil lawsuit.”
