Music festival season is finally here! The weather cleared up, the sun shone brightly, and the musicians took to the stage. In the spring, tourists head out of town and travel around the world to see their favorite artists perform. Festivals are happening everywhere this spring. The last thing you want to do is miss out.

Choosing the right holiday to travel to can involve many deciding factors. Cost aside, it’s important to figure out what type of musical experience you want and where. From the ultimate R&B and soul extravaganza to EDM, hip-hop and jazz, here are some of the music festivals taking place in the spring.

SXSW – Austin, Texas

Time: March 11-16, 2024

SXSW Music Festival will be held in Austin again in 2024. The event is one of Texas’ top events, showcasing the best in music, film and technology. Everyone loves SXSW. The streets are bustling with tourists, artists and creatives looking to showcase their work while having a good time. When it comes to music, this festival offers something for every visitor and can look forward to encountering many independent artists on the festival’s many showcase stages. In addition to these independent artists, visitors can also enjoy performances by legendary entertainers Bootsy Collins PARTYNEXTDOOR, Chxrry22 and more.

Rolling Loud California – Inglewood, California

Time: March 15-17, 2024

When SXSW ends, visitors should head to Cali to experience Rolling Loud California. The multi-day music festival is taking place this spring and features performances from everyone you want to see. On night one, Nicki Minaj headlined the stage with special performances from a group of artists including Sexxy Red, Rae Sremmurd and YGand Tyga. Nights two and three were also packed with performances. Concertgoers can’t look forward to live performances from Post Malone, Summer Walker and Big Sean, as well as exciting performances from Future and Metro Boomin on night three. This year, Rolling Loud celebrates 10 years of taking over Inglewood, and some of music’s hottest stars will be joining the festivities.

Dreamvile Music Festival – Raleigh, NC

Time: April 6-7, 2024

Even though J. Cole is currently still touring with Drake, the rapper will be taking over North Carolina this spring. Dreamville Festival will be held in early April. The official lineup has not yet been announced. However, tickets are now on sale and fans are speculating who they will see take the stage this year.

Coachella Music Festival – Indio, California

Time: April 12th to 14th, 19th to 21st

Coachella is one of the most anticipated music festivals every year, and 2024 is no exception. First up is a special performance by No Doubt. Fans haven’t seen the band perform together in nearly a decade. So people are whispering about what to expect during this iconic show. In addition, travelers can expect to see some of their favorite artists take the stage in Indigo, California, including Doja Cat, Tyler The Creator, Lil Uzi Vert, Jhene Aiko and more.

National Cannabis Day – Washington, DC

Time: April 19-20, 2024

The National Cannabis Festival might be the ultimate spring smoker’s event. The festival takes place during the 420 weekend in Washington, D.C., and there’s plenty to see and do during this annual canna holiday. Travelers can enjoy a live performance by Thundercat on the first night, followed by special live performances by Wu-Tang Clan and Redman on April 20. Devin The Dude, The Backyard Band, Black Alley and more will also take the stage. In between shows, visitors can also watch the National Cannabis Championship and enjoy a host of other cannabis-centric exhibits.

Jazz and Heritage Festival – New Orleans, Louisiana

Time: April 25 to May 5, 2024

The NOLA Jazz & Heritage Festival returns to celebrate and honor jazz, blues, rock and soul music. The event has been held since the 1970s and attracts millions of visitors from across the country each year. This year’s lineup is creative and eclectic; encompassing more than just traditional jazz and blues artists. Iconic performances from Earth, Wind, Fire, The Killers, The Foo Fighters, The Rolling Stones and more will hit New Orleans stages this spring.

Sol Blume Music Festival – Sacramento, CA

Time: May 3-5, 2024

Sol Blume is definitely for R&B lovers. The festival takes place May 3-5 in Sacramento and will feature everyone you want to hear take the stage. Tickets are on sale now for the multi-day event, which will feature performances by Sza, Snoh ​​Alegra and Kaytramine. Travelers can also see live performances by Masego, SiR, Wale, JoJo, Doechii, Ari Lenox and many other R&B and soul musicians.

Electric Daisy Carnival – Las Vegas, Nevada

Time: May 17-19, 2024

EDM lovers can’t be left out until spring is over. If electronic dance music is your thing, then Electric Daisy Carnival has everything you could want. The event is the largest EDM music festival in North America. Each year, the event attracts music, technology and art lovers from around the world. Combined with performances from some of the hottest EDM DJs and artists, you’ll experience a musical revolution in Sin City.
