In a strange collision of hip-hop and politics, Boosie BadAzz sued two political lobbyists after paying $600,000 to receive a pardon from President Donald Trump that never happened.
Bushey is seeking to recoup $300,000 from two lobbyists after they failed to obtain a pardon from Trump in their federal gun case, according to a report released by NOTUS.org on Monday (July 13). In March 2026, the Louisiana rapper’s attorneys filed an arbitration lawsuit against two far-right political figures, Jacob Wohl and Jack Burkman, of JM Burkman & Associates. In his legal action, Busey claimed to have paid $600,000 to Wall and Burkman after he discussed how to obtain a pardon signed by President Donald Trump as he faced sentencing on gun possession charges.
Boosie, whose real name is Torence Hatch, told NOTUS.org that the two men made it look easy and told him the deal was done.
“They were really aggressive and they were talking like Trump was on speed dial,” he told Politico.
Clearly, Wall and Jack Burkman failed to live up to their promise, as Trump’s pardon never happened. In fact, an unnamed White House official working on amnesty told NOTUS.org that they had never heard of Wall or Burkman, did not support their work, and “advised anyone seeking pardon that their involvement would seriously harm their chances.”
According to Boosie’s legal filings, he is seeking $300,000 in damages, which, as stated in his employment contract, requires the lobbyist to return half of the money if he is not granted a pardon. Lawyers for Wall and Berkman say the agreement was never actually signed and want the case dismissed.
Jill Kraft, Busey’s arbitration attorney, believes Wall and Berkman allegedly took advantage of the rapper’s desperation to get leniency in his federal gun case for a quick paycheck.
“When people are in trouble, you know, they always want to have hope, right? You always want to have a tangible idea that things might get better,” Kraft told NOTUS.org. “Unfortunately, I mean, in our society, there are people who, you know, recognize that in other people and take advantage of it.”

Although a pardon never materialized, Boosie BadAzz managed to escape prison after a judge sentenced him to time served in January 2026. In addition to three years of supervised release, the rapper was ordered to pay a $50,000 fine.
