Organizers have unveiled the first massive wave of artists for the upcoming I Am Hip Hop Festival 2026. Slated for Aug 8-22 in Kigali, Rwanda, the landmark regional festival has locked in over 30 East African hip-hop acts.
The full story: The lineup crosses borders between Rwanda, Uganda, and Burundi to celebrate the growth of the regional sound. The second edition returns July 4–5 at Institut Français du Rwanda after a successful 2024 debut.
Green Ferry Music, the Kigali label behind it, says it’s “the only one of its kind in Rwanda” mixing live concerts, breakdance battles, graffiti showcases, DJ sets, streetwear exhibitions, and pop-ups. Tickets are Rwf10,000, kids under 16 free. Expect names like Bruce Melodie, Juno Kizigenza, Chriss Eazy, and Sat-B based on 2026 regional trends.
