Tigger was reportedly arrested on charges of battery and third-degree child abuse, weeks after his wife shared a photo of a bruised face.
The prominent media personality was detained in Atlanta on Saturday (June 20), TMZ reported on Tuesday (June 23). Later that morning, he posted a $9,000 bond on the aggravated battery charge and a $1,000 bond on the child abuse charge. As of this writing, no further details have been released.
The news comes just weeks after Tigger’s wife, Alicia Brown, shared a post on Instagram with an injured face and the caption, “Ask my husband why my face looks like this.” Brown sought medical treatment for the injuries, according to dispatch records obtained by TMZ, prompting police to launch an investigation in which Tigger was named a suspect.
He previously denied any wrongdoing in a statement released by TMZ.
“I want to make it clear that these circulating accusations and accusations are false,” Teague said. “Out of respect for everyone involved, I ask for forgiveness, privacy and restraint as my family navigates this difficult time. I remain grateful for the trust you have placed in me throughout this journey. I intend to continue to live and lead in a manner worthy of that trust.”
Alicia also released a statement to The Breakfast Club earlier this month, noting that she “never called [her] Husband is an abuser,” “Social media has come to its own conclusions. ” She added that she believed the legal process would proceed as expected.
It’s unclear whether these matters are related.
