Live Nation is facing a lawsuit after a 16-year-old was attacked at a Wiz Khalifa and Sean Paul concert due to inadequate security measures.
A July 2025 concert by Wiz Khalifa and Sean Paul at the Credit Union 1 Amphitheater in Tinley Park, Illinois, became the focus of a major lawsuit after a 16-year-old girl was sexually assaulted during the show.
The girl’s family filed a lawsuit against Live Nation Entertainment and the venue, claiming inadequate security measures allowed the attack to occur in a restricted area that was supposed to be off-limits to concertgoers.
Roman Basso, an 18-year-old from Frankfort, was arrested in January 2026 and charged with a Class X felony, aggravated sexual assault.
According to the complaint, the teen attended the show with a friend and the friend’s mother, who purchased alcohol for the girl at the venue.
As the victim walked toward the south side of the amphitheater to use the restroom, she was led into an enclosed area where the assault occurred.
The lawsuit alleges that Live Nation and the venues failed to maintain adequate security, implement minor safety policies, prevent underage drinking, identify and remove predatory adults, and properly secure restricted areas accessible to the public.
Tinley Park police began investigating on July 24, 2025, after Ohio hospital staff notified police of the alleged assault, according to FOX 32 Chicago.
Live Nation’s surveillance footage, eyewitness accounts and forensic interviews all support the victim’s story. Basso allegedly admitted this after being informed of his rights in custody.
The lawsuit cites disturbing patterns at Live Nation events over the past decade.
