The four men found guilty of Forio’s murder were sentenced to life in prison.
Isaiah Chance, Sean Gathright, Davion Murphy and Rashad Murphy went on trial on Friday (May 15), a week after being convicted on conspiracy, murder and attempted murder charges in connection with the May 8 slaying of the Jacksonville, Florida, rapper. After hearing closing arguments over the past week, the jury sentenced four men to life in prison without the possibility of parole.
The verdict could be seen as a victory for the four, as prosecutors had previously announced they would seek the death penalty if they were found guilty.
Last October, the fifth person charged with murder, Alicia Andrews, was found guilty of manslaughter at trial. She has appealed the verdict and asked for a new trial. His sentencing date has been postponed.
During the trial, prosecutors convinced the jury that the gang stalked and killed Foolio as part of an ongoing gang war in Jacksonville between ATK and the 6 Block, the 1200 gang associated with Foolio. On June 23, 2024, Foolio was shot and killed as he and two of his friends sat in a car in front of a Holiday Inn in Tampa, Florida. Foolio was in town celebrating his birthday.
Investigators say Isaiah Chance and his girlfriend, Alicia Andrews, followed Foolio around Tampa and provided his location to three other men, who were shown on surveillance camera filming Foolio’s car in a hotel parking lot.
