Drake reignited his war of words with Kendrick Lamar during an appearance on 1 AM in Albany, touching on religion and the cold bars of the rap world.
here we go. again.
Give Drake some grace. People forget that Jay-Z took a lot of shots at Nas after “Ether” and “Super Ugly.” That’s it for us.
Drake appears to have re-opened with Kendrick Lamar on “1 AM in Albany,” a “leaked” record. People were either going crazy or yawning. I had to listen a few times to hear this stuff, but there are already reports on it online.
OVO Don greeted Kendrick, but it was mixed with a lot of talk about morality, honor, religion, and supremacy. By the way, there are a few other lines that will be clear to others. Drake opened the show with what most considered to be a direct attack on Kendrick.
“To be number one, you gotta lead the way, always lift something over my head, you’re still a few feet away,” Drake raps.

The song takes a quick turn, but the metaphor is there.
“The plot twist is that the owl never sees the cage and the owl wakes up just to seize the day,” he continued.
Drake appears to challenge Kendrick and others on religious symbolism and hypocrisy.
“Speaking of hiding the bible, maybe y’all should read a page and hang a frozen cross around your neck and think Jesus will save, well even if he did, n#gga, anyway, the blasphemy you said lets me know your amazing grace will be delayed.”
Kendrick definitely had spiritual tendencies in his feud with Drake, but they’re still subconscious in my opinion.
Drake didn’t stop there.
“You niggas should be ashamed of yourself, the fact that you have to go through these talks to get some decent performance, man.”
“God wants to wipe that smug look off your fucking face, all you do is capitalize on it like a big letter, hide from the truth, but still manage to end up getting the hit that gets you a base run.”
Yes, that’s for Dot.
I think it’s hard to minimize Kendrick’s victory lap, but we’re getting there.
“The N#99as saw you out at first and you needed them, so you’re out at home now, like a double.”
The record arrived as Drake prepared for ICEMAN. The promotion is in progress. His base is excited. Meanwhile, Kendrick remains silent, and I doubt that will continue.
The dust refuses to settle.
