Lil Zay Osama is one of seven men charged in a federal burglary case in Illinois.

On Tuesday (April 28), the U.S. Attorney’s Office unsealed an indictment charging the Chicago rapper, born Isaiah Dukes, with conspiracy to kidnap, kidnap and rob for his alleged role in a violent home invasion that occurred in Winnetka, Illinois, in March. The rapper has been detained since April 10

Five of the men forced their way into the victim’s home and demanded money, valuables and cryptocurrency at gunpoint, according to the recently unsealed indictment. During the robbery, one of the men allegedly called Lil Zay Osama to get instructions on how to obtain cryptocurrency from one of the victims.

Lil Zay Osama’s attorney released the following statement to XXL regarding the incident.

“My client was not present at the robbery, did not plan the robbery, and Mr. Dukes hopes to stand trial as soon as possible,” the statement read.

All seven men have pleaded not guilty to the charges. Lil Zay Osama’s next court appearance is scheduled for May 12.

Lil Zay Osama was released from prison last February after being convicted of illegally possessing a machine gun in New York City in 2022 after leaving the weapon in an Uber car.
