YoungBoy Never Broke Again’s documentary “American YoungBoy” reportedly took in more than $1.1 million in its first weekend without much fanfare before its release.
NBA YoungBoy’s documentary “American Boy” debuted at No. 10 in the week’s box office totals, taking in more than $1.1 million domestically, Box Office Mojo finalized on Sunday (April 26). The film was released in 583 cinemas on April 22.
Directed by American YoungBoy Nico Ballesteros, it documents the Louisiana rapper’s massive MASA tour, which grossed nearly $70 million in 2025, making it one of the most successful solo rap tours in history. The film takes a behind-the-scenes look at YB’s historic tour, as well as moments from the rapper’s home and family life in between shows. Producers for the concert film include NBA YoungBoy himself, as well as Patrick Hughes, Kyle Clayborn and Antoine Banks.
Fans reportedly turned various cinemas into raucous impromptu concerts, leading to theater managers kicking everyone out. In another incident, police were called to the theater.
WRAL reports that seven teenagers were detained after a screening of “American Boy” at the Regal Cinema in North Hills, North Carolina, on Saturday (April 25). Police reportedly received calls about large crowd fights at local Chick-fil-A and movie theaters. The Raleigh Police Department later confirmed that the seven teens had been released to their parents.
