CyHi talks about the reasons behind Travis Scott, Kid Cudi and GOOD Music’s breakup in his new song “The GOOD Ole Days.”
CyHi released his new song “The GOOD Ole Days” on Friday (March 6), in which he addressed the artists on Ye’s GOOD Music label and explained the reasons for their breakup.
On the track, produced by Mark Byrd and Phil Blackman, Georgia Rhymes methodically explains his influences on GOOD Music members Travis Scott, Kid Cudi and more. He claims his friendship with Travis began to go downhill when he couldn’t get a verse from him in exchange for writing the Houston rapper’s biggest hit, “Sicko Mode,” CyHi reported.
“I love what he’s doing in fashion, but ni**a looks tacky,” he raps. “When I helped him produce the album, it felt like [11-times] Platinum card but I haven’t gotten my exchange yet and he was angry that I even asked. “
As for Cudi, CyHi believes their relationship soured because he took Ye’s side during past disagreements with the “Man on the Moon” artist.
“It could get real ugly/They say Ye almost fucked around and killed dude,” he raps. “That’s why their relationship is still a mess/and I’m caught in the middle of it all. Man, n**a should have feelings for me.”
As for Ye, CyHi admitted that he was also the reason for GOOD Music’s breakup, but he sympathized with the Chicago rapper and producer because he was the leader who tried to bring all the members together in the best way possible.
“Okay, I get it. But you know sometimes Kanye can be a little difficult/I get it, but I get him in a different way/Y’all know the dark twisted leaves of beauty,” he lyrically explains.
“He’s just an honest guy, but it comes across as a guy who’s heartbroken about 808/I’m not gonna lie/Sometimes it gets in the way of business/He’s just not afraid to say things you don’t say.”
Towards the end of the song, CyHi told the audience that he would be releasing a new album “soon” called “The Story of Mr. EGOT.”
