CyHi attacks J. Cole on new song “Lost Control” in response to 2016’s “False Prophets.”
CyHi dropped the song “Lost Control” on February 27 after teasing its release on February 26. In the song, the Atlanta rapper calls out Cole without naming him.
“You scared our good brother at the nationals, why?/Should have known you, and the little Honda must have crashed,” CyHi rhymed.
“Okay, this might be off topic, but tell St. John’s that their rap isn’t that jaw-dropping,” he continued, subtly referencing Cole’s time at St. John’s University. “You forget I still owe you ‘False Prophet’/I rap as hard as Bernard Hopkins/And no yes man here, my dog stops it.”
CyHi later explained why he had now dropped his response to a 10-year-old song after someone pointed out on social media that he was too talented to be worthy of the clout chase.
“I’m not very talented,” CyHi typed. “Talent doesn’t help you, he used my family to get buzz and I don’t think there’s anything wrong with that… No, I wasn’t trying to do it for clout. And I was told to give niggas a pass. You guys are lucky it’s 2026 and I’m more mature now.”
While “False Prophet” was considered a critic of Ye, CyHi believes he was also targeted by Cole’s Bar for Ye’s submissive people. As for why he waited ten years to respond, CyHi noted, “N**a, when I got you, I got you,” CyHi wrote. “If you shoot at my car 10 years ago and I see you 10 years later, that’s it.”
Jermaine released his highly anticipated album “The Fall-Off” last month and revealed he will no longer be dropping a “J. Cole” album as he prepares for a world tour.
