50 Cent just proved all his doubters wrong. His Netflix documentary about Diddy earned 50 million views worldwide, making it the platform’s seventh most-watched series at the end of 2025.

Sean Combs: The Reckoning launched on December 2 and immediately sparked a huge amount of controversy.

The four-part series sheds light on decades-old allegations against the bad boy tycoon. Viewing data released by Netflix shows that the documentary has been viewed 50.8 million times worldwide, exceeding expectations.

Damon Dash and others have called 50 Cent a fraud on the project. They said he was “capping” when he announced plans for the docuseries. The Breakfast Club even questioned whether 50 Cent could fulfill his promise to expose Diddy’s alleged crimes.

Well, this documentary has become Netflix’s most successful hip-hop documentary in years.

It has been viewed nearly 40 million times more than Eddie Murphy’s “Being Eddie.” Only six other series on Netflix performed better in the second half of 2025.

Director Alexander Stapleton paints a devastating portrait of Combs’ alleged actions. The series features interviews with former bad boy artists, security guards and law enforcement officials.

The documentary exposes alleged business fraud involving Notorious BIG’s contracts, Diddy’s drug use, feuds with Tupac and Sookie Knight, and abuse of numerous women, including his ex-girlfriend Cassie Ventura.

Diddy’s representatives called the documentary “desperate sensationalism” designed to capitalize on media attention. They accuse Netflix of using private footage, including conversations with Combs’ attorney, without permission.

The streaming giant fired back, issuing a statement denying all accusations.

Netflix said the documentary has no connection to previous projects and that it followed proper legal procedures. They insist all footage was obtained through legal channels.

The series arrives at a critical moment in Diddy’s downfall. In July 2025, federal prosecutors convicted him on two counts of interstate prostitution.

He was sentenced to 50 months in prison and immediately transferred to federal custody. Didi is currently serving his sentence at the Federal Correctional Facility at Fort Dix in New Jersey.

His legal team filed a fast-track appeal seeking to overturn the conviction. They argued prosecutorial misconduct and insufficient evidence warranted a new trial.

The Bureau of Prisons lists Combs’ expected release date as May 2028.
