Halle Bailey is getting ready for the holidays with her two-year-old son HAlso looking back at a year marked by personal growth and legal drama.
The 25-year-old singer and actress told E! News that she’s going all out with decorations and traditions this Christmas. “Decorate everything, overload,” she says. “My house is covered in Christmas lights. So, I’m really excited about that.”
Baking is also on the agenda. “I love baking sugar cookies. I do a whole thing,” she added. Bailey said her son’s love of music has become an important part of their holiday mornings. “He loved music,” she said. “So, we wake up in the morning and sing.”
When asked if Halo would follow in her musical footsteps, the Little Mermaid star responded: “Who knows. I hope he does what he wants to do. But he’s definitely musically inclined, which is cool.”

Bailey shares Halo with DDG (formerly known as Darryl Dwayne Granberry Jr.). The two ended their relationship in 2022 after two years of dating. The former couple made headlines earlier this year due to their legal dispute. In May, Bailey obtained a restraining order against DDG after alleging physical, verbal, emotional and financial abuse. The following month, DDG obtained a temporary restraining order against Bailey.
By October, the parties agreed to drop their request for a restraining order and enter into a temporary custody agreement to share custody of their son.
Looking back on 2023, Bailey said the year brought significant changes. “This has truly been a year of change,” she said. “I’m so excited. I’ve released an album. I feel healed and happy and free. I just want people to listen to music and I’m grateful to be here.”
Bailey’s holiday plans come just months after she released her debut solo album and finalized a custody arrangement with DDG in October.
