Megan Thee Stallion will have to wait until next week to learn the verdict in her defamation lawsuit against blogger Milagro Gramz.
On Wednesday (November 26), the jury appeared in Miami Federal Court and began deliberations after receiving instructions from the judge. What some thought might be a brief conclusion on whether to find Gramz liable for defamation, promotion of altered sexual depictions and intentional infliction of emotional distress turned into a day-long incident.
The jury asked multiple questions during its deliberations, legal affairs reporter Megan Cunniff reports. The first question concerns the identity of specific exhibits. The second concerns Florida’s “deepfake” video statute, as it relates to Gramz sharing an artificial intelligence video depicting Meghan having sex. They also want to know where Meghan was when she saw the video.
After six hours of deliberations, the jury has yet to reach a decision. The jury was sent home as one juror needed to leave at 4pm and will return on Monday (December 1) to continue the trial.
Meghan sued Cooper in October 2024, accusing the blogger of conspiring with Tory Lanez and her father, Sonstar Peterson, to harass Meghan online and discredit her claims that she was shot and killed by Tory in 2020. Meghan claims Gramz spread false rumors about her and spread a false video depicting Meghan engaging in a sexual act.
During the trial, Meghan testified about the trauma she suffered as a result of Gramz’s lies and false social media posts. It was revealed that she went to a treatment center as a result of the incident.
Gramz testified about her upbringing and her beginnings as a blogger. She told the jury she was invested in the Tory Lanez and Megan Thee Stallion cases because of her audience’s fascination with them. She admitted receiving $3,000 from Tory Lanez’s father, but said the money was used for promotions of other projects as well as birthdays and winter clothing for her children. Gramz also testified that she believed Meghan’s AI video was real.
