NBA Youngboy was told to move to his designated seat on Sunday night (September 21) when a teenage boy brutally attacked stadium employees at a rapper’s concert at the T-Mobile Center in Kansas City after being told to move to his designated seat.
According to video captured by witnesses, the underage boy (think under 16) placed an older employee on the ground and repeatedly beat him in the face.
The employee works as a guest service and is estimated to have a broken nose and lost glasses when he attacked in his 60s.
“He beat him because his ticket was in another part,” said Robert McDaniel, who filmed the incident and spoke with the Daily Mail. “He broke his nose.”
McDaniel said other attendees were already sitting in the wrong area before the confrontation turned violent.
The employee was hospitalized for serious but life-threatening injuries. A second person, a security guard, was also attacked by the teenager when he tried to evacuate him from the area.
“I’m trying to get help from these kids. They’re kids. Not that they’re innocent, they have no logic or common sense,” McDaniel said. “We have these epidemics where boys are not taught how to deal with these emotions.”
The teenager was detained at the venue by Kansas City police around 9:30 p.m., and he was later released to his parents. Authorities confirmed that detectives are working with prosecutors to identify potential charges.
“Two victims were treated in regional hospitals, [sustained] Non-life threatening harm. An investigation is underway,” police said in a statement.
Venue officials condemned the incident, calling it “terror” and added that “no reflection on our venue, our city or all guests of all ages enjoying the show without any incident.”
United Center concert cancels 48 hours before screening time
NBA Youngboy’s concert at the Chicago United Center on Wednesday (September 24) was cancelled two days before Showtime due to safety concerns.
The decision comes after fears of violence related to the ongoing disputes between Youngboy and Chicago, including Lil Durk and the OTF, as well as King von 2020 King Affiliate Affiliate Quando Rondo.
Despite stricter safety measures, the Joint Center eventually unplugged the plug on the grounds of “unforeseeable circumstances” and public safety.
