A man was arrested for nearly five months waving the Palestinian flags of “Gaza” and “Sultan” during Kendrick Lamar’s Super Bowl Lix Lix halftime show.
Zul-Qarnain Kwame Nantambu, 41, a New Orleans resident, was hired as a background performer for Kendrick Lamar.
He interrupted the February 9 show by reaching the top on the Black Buick GNX and on the Caesar superstage in New Orleans and revealed the flag in performance.
He refused to follow safe orders and was quickly detained. The incident sparked an investigation by the Nora soldiers of the Force, who identified Nantambu through internal review and surveillance footage.
The Orleans Parish Crime District Court issued an arrest warrant.
On Thursday (June 26), Nantambu was handed over by lawyers and was booked at the Orleans Diocese Justice Center.
“Preliminary investigations showed that during the half-time performance, the performer deviated from his designated role, searched the Sudan flag with the message “Sultan and Free Gaza” and ran through the flag with the flag on it.
He faces allegations of boycotting officers and interrupting peace through legal parliament.
The NFL permanently bans Nantambu from participating in all leagues. The protests took place during the most popular Super Bowl halftime show in recent history.
